MOBILE APPS

With the advance of technology, there are new Apps for the iPhone, iPad to help veterans.  The Following links lead to web pages that have options to install these apps to your mobile device, some apps have a cost to download, but there are several helpful free apps.  Click on the App Logo to go to that web site.  If you have information for the Android or other phone types, please let us know.

Collebo is a place that was envisioned while I was sitting in Afghanistan. Anyone
that has been deployed, knows how hard it may be to get a morale call, or to even
have internet that is faster than a dial-up connection. Because of this, going to 20 different sites becomes very difficult and staying in contact with our loved ones, or our friends becomes very difficult and puts added stresses on our relationships with the people in our lives in an already very stressful environment. I decided to do something about it.

The Department of Defense's Compensation and Benefits Handbook for Seriously Ill and Injured Members of the Armed Forces provides service members and their family's comprehensive information on what they would be entitled to upon separation or retirement as a result of serious injury or illness. The handbook was created by the Department of Defense (DOD) and compiled in cooperation with the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and the Social Security Administration. It was transitioned into app format by the U.S. Army's Combined Arms Support Command's (CASCOM) SCoE Mobile Team.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation is the official charity of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW), America’s oldest and largest service group for combat veterans. Return the Favor is an awareness and fundraising campaign to honor, celebrate, and support active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. Our mission is to support programs and services that provide financial assistance for military families, free phone calls for service members overseas, VIP treatment for troops and their families at entertainment events, and morale boosting events for military units. These programs and services are provided at no cost to the recipients. The VFW Foundation is one of the nation’s highest rated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations. For more information, please visit www.returnthefavor.org.

Veterans Medical Log - I've heard that if you want to get a fair rating from the Veteran's Administration you have to do two things. Visit your doctor regularly and provide accurate information about your medical condition.

Veteran's Log makes it easy to track your medical conditions. Just input the medical conditions you want to track on the“Conditions tab. Then tap the“Add Entry tab and tap a medical condition to add a log entry. Tap on the things that happened that day, then tap save. If an items does not apply to you personally, just don't tap it.  An example would be “Missed Work” if you were retired.
