Back in 1994 I
started as a Science Fair judge at Clear
Creek ISD. After a few years I became a lead
judge and two years ago was made Co-Director
of this event.
On Friday (1/13) we had our last Lead Judge
meeting at the ISD and then Judge for
Science Fair.

From Wed
(1/24) thru Sun (1/29) I was at the Freedom
Festival Homes for our Troops Clay Shooting
event. This is the largest event in the USA
that raises money to build homes for our
Wounded Warriors. This morning they told us
that NET was over $1M from this one event. A
"custom home" adapted for a specific warrior
costs about $350K.
A flag retirement ceremony was held Friday
night where we burned over 400 flags.

Motorcycle Group Unit 1 Member had the honor
to be the VFW Commander for the burial of
Daniel (Dan) Matthews Karales, 84, US Army,
WWII and Korea. Internment was at Galveston
Memorial Cemetery, Hitchock. |

and stood tall and silent for Petty Officer
3rd Class Gregory Wayne Anderson, Jr. The
church service was held at St Francis Xavier
Catholic Church, Houston with internment at
Houston Memorial Gardens, Pearland. |

Had the honor to join with other COLD (42
degree) veterans as we paid a tribute to AF
E3 Airman 1st Class Eric Hoyle who is
leaving for his first tour of Afghan soon.
We had a staging flag line off Belt 8 and
Blackhawk for his initial arrival then were
escorted by the local HFD trucks to his home
for a grand send off. |

Yesterday and today I had the honor to be
the Chaplin for our VFW 6378 Honor Guard as
we did the service for Bob Wilson, 89, WWII
veteran. On Monday evening, we had the Honor
Guard Casket Detail and on Tues (2/14) we
did the service at Crowder Funeral Home in
Dickinson. Burial was at HNC with USMC Honor
Guard and the PGR. |

Unit Member attended and served at the 22nd
Annual Wild Game Feast. Member has been
doing this for the past 5 yrs and many
bikers from the Houston area also attend.
All the monies raised (everything ((food,
labor, auction items)) are donated) stays in
the community of Dripping Springs. |
